DETOX
Anti-ageing
starts here
Accumulation
of toxins from the air we breathe, the water we drink and the food
we eat can build up in the body in a slow, insidious manner.
Detoxification
programmes are an invaluable tool in supporting health and immunity.
But they should not be undertaken without due care: 'detox reactions'
are not uncommon. Cleansing protocols are part of the stop-the-clock
programmes.
Two
important organs in the detoxification process are the liver and
the colon.

COLON CLEANSING
Health
starts in the colon. Full and timely elimination is vital. A plant-based
diet, adequate exercise and sufficient water are basic requirements
for colon health.
The
modern Western diet can lead to sub-optimal functioning and a build
up of mucoidal plaque on the walls of the colon. This reduces the
absorption of essential nutrients and lays the terrain for unwanted
'visitors' to take hold and release their toxins.
Colon
cleansing protocols vary from 10-day to 3-month programmes.

LIVER
CLEANSING
The
liver is a key organ in the body's self-defence system. It uses
two mechanisms, called Phase I and Phase II detoxification,
to remove toxins. An unhealthy liver does not detoxify substances
as rapidly or as completely as a healthy liver. Slower detoxification
results in more toxic substances circulating in the body. Eventually
they are stored in fatty body tissue, including the brain and
central nervous system. Stored toxins may be slowly released
into the blood, comprising health.
Impaired
liver function can lead to increased levels of free radicals
and oxidative stress.
